An introduction to the field of water resources engineering; overview of the basic components of the hydrologic cycle: evaporation, precipitation, infiltration, and runoff; basic principles of dam and reservoir design; reservoir sedimentation; basic principles of open channel hydraulics and channel design; introduction to groundwater hydrology; flow in water wells.

This course is a requirement for the degree of BS in Civil Engineering

Course Description:

Systems theory and operation research for solving typical water resources problems quantitatively and qualitatively; aspects of engineering economics, the concepts of the discount rate, methods of project evaluation, stochastic and deterministic simulation.
