The purpose of this course is to develop student’s ability for oral presentation of professional topics and writing engineering reports. To broaden student horizons with presentation and discussion of selected Civil Engineering problems and projects.

Emphasis of this course is the analysis of force systems; the laws of equilibrium, analysis of simple structures, distributed loads, friction, centroids and moments of inertia.

Course Objectives: Develop a thorough understanding of the relations between the external loads applied to deformable bodies and the stress-strains produced in the body, principally for bodies that behave linearly
