In this course the most commonly used numerical methods in civil engineering practice are introduced. The topics include: modeling and problem solving, computers and software, approximations and errors, roots of equations, matrix algebra and systems of linear equations. Computer applications are emphasized, including the use of the most common computer packages such as MATLAB and Excel.
