  • Statics Prerequisite Test

Who/when to take this test: students in INGE 3031 Statics during the first week of the semester

Comments: This test is to evaluate your basic knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra, to give a partial measure of your preparation for INGE 3031 Statics. Please do your own review of these topics during the first week of the course.

  • Statics Concept Survey

Who/when to take this test: students in INGE 3031 Statics during the first week of the semester; other students may take it at a later time to evaluate their retention of basic concepts.

Comments: This survey is to evaluate your qualitative understanding of basic statics concepts with little or no formal knowledge of statics or its technical terminologies.  The questions can therefore serve as an excellent preview of key ideas to learn by the end of the course.

  • CATS (Concept Assessment Tool for Statics)

Who/when to take this test: students in INGE 3031 Statics during the last two weeks of the semester; other students may take it at a later time to evaluate their retention of basic concepts.

Comments: This test is a nationally developed test to evaluate your qualitative understanding of basic statics concepts after taking a course in Statics.  The concepts will continue to apply for subsequent courses such as Dynamics and Mechanics of Materials.
