English 4008 is a creative nonfiction writing course designed to practice the skills and tools required for the writing process. The first rule of writing is: Writers Write. Therefore, a major component of the course will be writing, both in-class spontaneous exercises and pieces that require a more sustained creative writing practice. The primary focus will be on creative nonfiction prose, but other genre will be introduced as creative nonfiction draws on techniques from fiction and poetry.
